With so much focus the only thing I could see was the finish line.  I found myself walking across the stage shaking the hand of the Dean, proceeded down the stairs, and looked up for the first time.  In this moment I felt accomplished, successful, relieved, belated even.  Most importantly, I felt so happy you would’ve thought I could fly.  I was free.

The freedom to be happy as I’ve learned rests upon no one but yourself.  We control our thoughts that control our attitude, behavior and emotions.  Our personal goals, whether they are long term or short term, drive us to reach and find our significance.  And although I haven’t quite found my why, it is what drives myself to extend my all in the things I do.  For one of the most important things I value is my time.  Time you see, is the one thing I can never get back.   A lesson I learned a few years ago, with a story to be shared another time.  A reminder to myself to ask why am I doing what I’m doing.  I go through this lesson everyday, and I struggle with it every day.

Improvements on the self are a difficult thing to do, especially if we’re tackling behaviors we’ve indulged in for many years.  Being honest with yourself, and holding ourselves accountable is hard and difficult.  However, that’s how we learn and develop ourselves the most.  I’m committed to become the best me I can be according to my own personal goals.  As a recent graduate, striving to add value to those around me, I’m launched into this journey of life and endless possibilities of experiences.

My goal for this blog is to offer a different perspective and resource for you.  Aiming to add value to your life and thoughts, so you can become the best you that you can be.  I’m not a professional, and I wont claim to offer you life changing results.  Rather offering what I’ve learned through my own and others experiences, to challenge your thinking as you head into your new year, new job, new life and new journey.
